tausch electric guitars - montreux (NAMM 2023)

This guitar will be featured in the Tausch booth at NAMM ‘23.

From Rainer - “There are currently 9 existing Montreux. The model was presented for the first time in August 2020. With a chestnut body and a plum wood fingerboard, i.e. the deliberate omission of tropical wood, they are sustainably built instruments. The guitar was featured on the 2021-22 BGS tour through the USA and Canada. I didn’t include the first prototype in this list, because it represents the story behind this model. It started with a mail from Hong Kong with the following line...

"I am interested in having a custom telecaster built with a larger/ scaled up body approx. 12 % larger. I am a giant of a man and regular tele’s just look ridiculous on me."

I gladly accepted this challenge and found the result so convincing that I decided to develop a regular Tausch Electric Guitars model out of it. Due to its larger surface area, this guitar produced a different sound compared to smaller ones and it felt so comfortable that I didn't want to put it down. I see the Montreux as very versatile in many musical genres...except maybe in Heavy Metal... but who knows? :-) Together with the “La Grange” unveiled in 2021, the Montreux now expands my portfolio, which until then included more or less only different variants of the 665 model series.”

This is a brand new consignment piece from Rainer.
