Just in - fresh from Kaz’s studio.
From Kaz:
“The name Ruby is from our best favorite movie "Smoke". Hollow alder body and the ‘spalted’ maple top board carved both sides (outside and inside).
I made four humbuckers for this and selected two “natural” and ‘clean” ones. Less power but I think these well represent its acoustic flavor.
The neck is a little bit thicker near the neck set point than usual compositions.
One thing I need to notice about the material. The top maple ‘spalted’ means this material was once under the lake. But no particular ‘spalted’ face because it was not so long. Just have a few crack lines.
I treated it and I think it is OK for our compositions because the material is well dried and has nice quilted looks. I want to let you know because some customers don’t like these sometimes.
We are very satisfied with the result.”
